I'm not sure how to say this but here it is. I moved to Fayetteville when my son was in the army 4 years ago. Times have really changed here and some not so good. I don't know how all these years I didn't shop here. I was inquiring about tamales on fb and a lot of people shared go to Compare Foods. So I took that trip. Background I'm a Southern California native with southwestern Mexican roots. I was seriously missing real Mexican food here in Fayetteville which seems to be called Mexican food but it's not the Mexican food I've had all my life. Can I just tell you when I walked into this store I felt at home. This store compares to the Mexican stores in California to the tee. Not only was the store exactly what I wanted I felt at home with my own kind being Mexican. I was in my glory with everything I was desiring here in the east. From pan de dulce to produce to meats to cooked deli foods and not to mention beautiful Mexican pottery. I willll definitely be back here a lot as my go to Mexican store. Oralè

Huge assortment of produce and lots of cuts of meat that aren't always carried at Food Lion or the Commissary. I easily found pork belly and while I was looking lost and trying to find pasteles, one of the men stocking the freezer section helped me find them and also showed me that they sell them in the hot deli too! Deli has a lot of prepared foods. Nice little spot for a quick lunch. They have a good assortment of baked goods as well! I will definitely be back here to get the ingredients to make pasteles and gandule rice from scratch because it looks like they carry everything here! I'm so happy I found this place!
